After 15 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Alan Campos. Paraguay's Xavier Zoido managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Décio Quirino in the 20 minute of the game. Dedé Camargo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, Buritama Sports's goalkeeper Gilberto Paraense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Pardo. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39th match minute, Buritama Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luiz Penha to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Augusto Fontes to strike the kick off in the second half. Gilberto Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. In the 83rd minute, Ivan Prats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buritama Sports's Gilberto Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 92nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a free kick in the 95th minute. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them. Paraguay were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
