Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miguel Gonzales having to make a save. If Isaias Gaitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Gonzales having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Gonzales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Roberto Aureo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Fonda in the 29th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 31st minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. The player immediately received a yellow card. CA Boca Jrs MdP's Diego Cagna was substituted for Marcelo Elequemedo. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Isaias Gaitano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CA Boca Jrs MdP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaias Gaitano in the 78th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Gonzales. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of CA Boca Jrs MdP booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position.
