Ernesto Fe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Manuel Ioritz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Ubaldo Gonzales who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cavallino Rampante II were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Candido Garin took the corner. A collision led to Cavallino Rampante II getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Jonas Olivar hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Cavallino Rampante II's Jonas Olivar fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Julio Vera was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. In the 35th minute, Ivo Oja fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Julio Vera, passed just outside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubaldo Gonzales in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquin Matai charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquin Matai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cavallino Rampante II getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Joaquin Matai hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Ubaldo Gonzales ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Luis Andino's late challenge caught a Cavallino Rampante II's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Andino helped the player get up and apologised. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ubaldo Gonzales's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Gonzales in the 57th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Ubaldo Gonzales made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cavallino Rampante II's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest.
