The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 5th minute of play forced Villa Maria FC's goalkeeper Celestino Columbo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celestino Columbo saved Villa Maria FC from getting behind. The supporters of Honduras booed when Villa Maria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilario Buinton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Venancio Panpili in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Generoso Txema came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute of the match Esteban Carvallo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celestino Columbo skillfully saved the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Villa Maria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Celestino Columbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The player immediately received a yellow card. Esteban Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. After 54 minutes of play Honduras's Esteban Carvallo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 54th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Villa Maria FC booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celestino Columbo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. 73 minutes into the match, Villa Maria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Celestino Columbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Honduras booed when Villa Maria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernan Soter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute of the match, Christian Sancho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Celestino Columbo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 82 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Generoso Txema came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celestino Columbo having to interfere. Robustiano Oihenarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Milagros Cabal got a free kick in the 92nd minute. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Sebastian Villa hit a great ball. When the match was over Honduras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Villa Maria FC throughout the match.
