Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Robustiano Oihenarte took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Villa Maria FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Robustiano Oihenarte showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. The supporters of Villa Maria FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a Villa Maria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 13th play minute Venancio Panpili came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benito Sanz. 2-0. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Venancio Panpili came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Villa Maria FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Panpili couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Villa Maria FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 minutes of play, Villa Maria FC's Robustiano Oihenarte made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celestino Columbo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Oihenarte in the 31st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Generoso Txema in the 32nd minute of play. 4-0 became the score in the 34th minute when Robustiano Oihenarte elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 38th minute, which inside left pole to 5-0. Abel Carballo charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Carballo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Oihenarte in the 43rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernan Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. It was beautiful to see Costa Rica's Axel Tasis in action when he in the 46th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Celestino Columbo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aaron Alcocer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-1 in the 53 minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Generoso Txema ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. Epifanio Platon's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Epifanio Platon helped the player get up and apologised. Celestino Columbo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 79th minute of play. Lautaro Puig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celestino Columbo having to make a save. Venancio Panpili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Venancio Panpili took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Villa Maria FC had played much better football throughout.
