RIVER PINAMAR fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 25 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Jorge Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play. Jorge Cutberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 32nd minute of the match. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Juliano Álvarez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Marin in the 41st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Juliano Álvarez could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 44 minutes, Honorio Cresconio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RIVER PINAMAR fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Honorio Cresconio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, RIVER PINAMAR fc's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Jorge Cutberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Jorge Cutberto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jorge Cutberto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 59th minute. Jorge Cutberto made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target.
