Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. River de Ramos Mejía's Eleuterio Maureo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play. Eleuterio Maureo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Angelo Grabiel came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 10 minute. Eleuterio Maureo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eleuterio Maureo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in River de Ramos Mejía's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eleuterio Maureo came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River de Ramos Mejía's goalie prevented a goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleuterio Maureo having to interfere. Angelo Grabiel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After 41 minutes, Daniel Zorita mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the River de Ramos Mejía players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Grabiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Weets in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Maureo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Angelo Grabiel made a kick off. Alejo Maties struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River de Ramos Mejía. The supporters of Ecuador booed when River de Ramos Mejía was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafin Benat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Grabiel in the 64th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Metodi Dutzov fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River de Ramos Mejía's protests and gave Metodi Dutzov a yellow card for diving instead. Metodi Dutzov hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Maureo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, River de Ramos Mejía's Eleuterio Maureo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Eleuterio Maureo made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eleuterio Maureo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christian Weets's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Grabiel came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel-Omar Batistuta in the 90th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gabriel-Omar Batistuta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Angelo Grabiel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Angelo Grabiel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to River de Ramos Mejía getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Adriano Fontana hit a great ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. River de Ramos Mejía were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
