Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Tuste in the 4th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Serafino Jurdan. Serafino Jurdan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Serafino Jurdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Serafino Jurdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serafino Jurdan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of the match. Serafino Jurdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Luis Andino got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Serafino Jurdan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 31st match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adan Chinto to maneuver through the defense. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Serafino Jurdan. Newells Old Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Silverio Tuste received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silverio Tuste to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Sancho could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Serafino Jurdan however easily saved by the left post. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Silverio Tuste put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. In the 60th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafino Jurdan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 69th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Serafino Jurdan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Tuste in the 72nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Serafino Jurdan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Serafino Jurdan made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafino Jurdan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cao Liang during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cao Liang didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Serafino Jurdan in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Errapel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serafino Jurdan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Ecuador played a much better game than Newells Old Boys and deserved their victory. The Newells Old Boys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
