After 12 played minutes ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ got a freekick which was hit by Zheko Kraychev. Guillermo Escalona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 played minutes ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ got a freekick which was hit by Ren Peng Fei. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Juan Benavides didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 19thth minute of the game Humberto Escobar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Escobar in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Escobar in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan Benavides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juan Benavides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 minutes ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Juan Benavides despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan Benavides. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
