Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Passos in the 13th minute of play. Wilson Veiga took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, CORINTHIANS's goalkeeper Ronaldo Barral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aaron Alcocer. Erasmo Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 51 minutes into the match, Adalberto Passos notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Wilson Veiga sent off a good shot on target. After 63 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Ronaldo Barral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. If Adalberto Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CORINTHIANS's Caio Paiva was substituted for Artur Bueno. CORINTHIANS's Rui Borges was substituted for Erasmo Ramos. CORINTHIANS's Osmar Neiva was substituted for Adalberto Passos. In the 76th minute, Moisés de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aaron Alcocer scored 3-3 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo Barral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ronaldo Barral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Tasis's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Urtsín Dumont was slow to take the kick. During this time CORINTHIANS's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on CORINTHIANS's corner Urtsín Dumont fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benito Sanz quite easily take care of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Costa Rica had won after a very even match.
