After having played for 7 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomasz Huchro might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomasz Huchro ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play forced 9 de Diciembre's goalkeeper Amadeo Carrizo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play forced 9 de Diciembre's goalkeeper Amadeo Carrizo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, 9 de Diciembre's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Angel Osasun, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A well-hit corner resulted in Anier Eron heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 43 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomasz Huchro. In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Amadeo Carrizo. 9 de Diciembre's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomasz Huchro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tomasz Huchro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho got in the 57th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Amadeo Carrizo handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Angel Osasun kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Amadeo Carrizo made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st match minute, 9 de Diciembre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anier Eron to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 62nd minute of play forced 9 de Diciembre's goalkeeper Amadeo Carrizo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomasz Huchro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 9 de Diciembre's Amadeo Carrizo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save 9 de Diciembre from getting a goal against them. Amadeo Carrizo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute. Amadeo Carrizo came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Amadeo Carrizo in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the match, 9 de Diciembre's goalkeeper Amadeo Carrizo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Amadeo Carrizo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute of the match Yunior Olegario shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Amado Lider's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amado Lider helped the player get up and apologised. Amadeo Carrizo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 91st minute. Yunior Olegario kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
