After 35 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beltza Morell. Beltza Morell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some careless play in the ATLETICO HUILA F.C defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beltza Morell. The ATLETICO HUILA F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beltza Morell should have stopped the shot. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee ignored ATLETICO HUILA F.C's protests and gave Ortzi Gustros a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ATLETICO HUILA F.C getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Ortzi Gustros hit a great ball. Ecuador's Felix Montes got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ATLETICO HUILA F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kusko Borica didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beltza Morell. ATLETICO HUILA F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Beltza Morell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kusko Borica kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ATLETICO HUILA F.C.
