Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 5 played minutes, Characate FC's Emre Can shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Characate FC reached it. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zacarias Francesco went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Zacarias Francesco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Price made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 13th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Santikurtz in the 14th minute of play. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Nestor Gaxan got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-0. 16 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Zacarias Francesco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zacarias Francesco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 23 minutes, Zacarias Francesco made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Zacarias Francesco put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Afonso in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute Characate FC were awarded a corner. Emre Can went to the cornerflag to take it. Characate FC's Nestor Gaxan suffered a sore thigh after 40 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 40 minutes, Jonathan Venegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Characate FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Characate FC's Ernesto Txanton was substituted for Nestor Gaxan. Camilo Gaos's late challenge caught a Characate FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gaos helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Zacarias Francesco tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leopoldo Afonso made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Characate FC the free kick. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. After 55 played minutes Characate FC got a freekick which was hit by Leon Napierkowski. Benjamin Price took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Afonso came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 61st minute. Leopoldo Afonso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Benjamin Price didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Serafino Paez kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Afonso went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score.
