Haroldo Lorien started the match with the kick off. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tymoteusz Gonsiewski hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Alvarado de Mar del Plata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo to fire away a dangerous shot which Iker Mincho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Alvarado de Mar del Plata's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iker Mincho came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Iker Mincho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 minutes Alvarado de Mar del Plata's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Haroldo Lorien struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvarado de Mar del Plata. In the 41st minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Alvarado de Mar del Plata made a substitution. Kang Feng replaced Jacobo Vincent. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Alvarado de Mar del Plata got a freekick which was hit by Tymoteusz Gonsiewski. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a free kick in the 59th minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Lorien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Modesto Isadore was substituted for Rolando Hodei. 65 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Lennie Buckler came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kang Feng, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Alvarado de Mar del Plata's goalkeeper Iker Mincho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Lorien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Iker Mincho made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kang Feng in the 79th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kang Feng in the 82nd minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennie Buckler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Iker Mincho got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kang Feng in the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Haroldo Lorien sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Lorien in the 90th minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Lorien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Joel Gaona fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Iker Mincho was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lautaro Mancebo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 94 minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Mexico players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
