The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rodolfo Salgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Rodolfo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodolfo Salgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Rodolfo Salgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Rodolfo Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 17th minute of the match. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rodolfo Salgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play forced TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye TAQUARI FC's goalie prevented a goal. Rodolfo Salgado came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70thth minute of the game Wilton Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Vale in the 73rd minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's Wilton Vale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodolfo Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute, Wilton Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. TAQUARI FC's Erasmo Gaspar was substituted for Ernani Souto. TAQUARI FC made a substitution. Giannis Karagiotis replaced Valer Covaliu. In the 93rd minute, Wilton Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Rodolfo Salgado managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
