But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilton Vale couldn't finish the play. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. In the 51st minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilton Vale to make the kick off. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Vale in the 55th minute of the match. Rodolfo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 57th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Rodolfo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Macos Graciani got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 74th match minute, TAQUARI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chupan Doar to maneuver through the defense. TAQUARI FC's Erasmo Gaspar was substituted for Ernani Souto. TAQUARI FC's Giannis Karagiotis was substituted for Valer Covaliu. Chupan Doar kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Luca Rouco got a throw-in 78 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Joel Gaona. 80 minutes into the match, Wilton Vale notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kabiru Rotimi in the 91st minute of the match. In the 91st match minute, TAQUARI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 98 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kabiru Rotimi, who was totally free with the ball in the 100th minute. Mexico played a much better game than TAQUARI FC and deserved their victory. The TAQUARI FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
