The supporters of HACHITAS WC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Medero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 10th minute of play. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 11th minute. A nice corner shot did that Jaime Cazalla got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ismael Medero quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 18th minute of play forced HACHITAS WC's goalkeeper Ismael Medero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ismael Medero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ismael Medero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Vladimiro Jerold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in HACHITAS WC's zone, Maximiliano Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Medero came out of the goal and Maximiliano Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltasar Veremundo in the 35th minute of the match. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after HACHITAS WC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Cazalla took the corner. Filiberto Tohias tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Ismael Medero. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 38th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Baltasar Veremundo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HACHITAS WC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltasar Veremundo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vladimiro Jerold in the 47th minute. After the first half Uruguay were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 51 minutes, Luis Marino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the HACHITAS WC and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bruno Beldad charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruno Beldad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 55 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Telo came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. HACHITAS WC's Ismael Medero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save HACHITAS WC from getting a goal against them. Ismael Medero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 61st minute. Camilo Covarrubias was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 62 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute, one of Uruguay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Uruguay. Uruguay:s Joaquin Gayoso showed great skill when he stopped Fidel Telo:s penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Ismael Medero in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Medero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. If Baltasar Veremundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Medero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Fidel Telo kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Vladimiro Jerold kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. 94 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Jerold came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Francisco Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ismael Medero was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Uruguay eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
