Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Elivélton Couto took the kick off in the first half of the match. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fabiano de Sena's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. After 8 minutes, Ronaldão Gaspar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube de Regatas Flalengo and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Clube de Regatas Flalengo getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Ronaldão Gaspar hit a great ball. Amauri Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 9th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseo Noboa during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elivélton Couto in the 12th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Nuno Gomes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got his second yellow card of the match in the 31st minute. The referee ordered Eliseo Noboa off the ground. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Elivélton Couto came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Clube de Regatas Flalengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elivélton Couto couldn't finish the play. If Aaron Alcocer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arthur Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Aaron Alcocer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amauri Xavier having to make a save. Elivélton Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elivélton Couto in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Clube de Regatas Flalengo's Silvinho Soeiro got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 56thth minute of the game Axel Tasis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube de Regatas Flalengo's Amauri Xavier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute, Arthur Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano de Sena in the 63rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Amauri Xavier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 73 minutes into the match, Clube de Regatas Flalengo's Luiz Fabiano de Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube de Regatas Flalengo's goalkeeper Amauri Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Luiz Fabiano de Sena fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Luiz Fabiano de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 94th minute Luiz Fabiano de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Gomes went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Clube de Regatas Flalengo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
