The shot was stopped by Lautaro Navarro but with some difficulty. In the 11th minute Christian Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Prudencio Quintyn in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Christian Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Christian Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Proença could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Christian Proença's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Norberto Constancio hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Moises Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Damian Zaremba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honduras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Christian Proença scored to the left of an out of position Lautaro Navarro, making the score, 2-0. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off.
