Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Valery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Diagur got free with Julio Vera in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pastor Valery made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 18th minute, Miguel Diagur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Diagur got free with Julio Vera in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miguel Diagur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Pastor Valery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play. Hector Berdoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pastor Valery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Capdevilla made a substitution. Carolo Christobal replaced Filomeno Hitz. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Omar Maju to make the kick off. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Diagur went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capdevilla's goalkeeper Pastor Valery, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Pastor Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Capdevilla's Miguel Diagur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Capdevilla's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adolfo Dolfo in the 68th minute. After taking down the ball on Capdevilla's corner Carolo Christobal fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Capdevilla's Pastor Valery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Capdevilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Evis to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 73rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pastor Valery but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Miguel Diagur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capdevilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Diagur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Miguel Diagur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Miguel Diagur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pastor Valery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, Omar Maju hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Diagur in the 93rd minute of play. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
