A collision led to LA VIOLA getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Jens-Ove Abrahamsson hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 3rd minute of play forced LA VIOLA's goalkeeper Felix Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute Albert Rutledge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th minute LA VIOLA were awarded a corner. Sune Dahlberg went to the cornerflag to take it. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Felix Martinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Rutledge in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felix Martinsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 24th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvald Uter. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play forced LA VIOLA's goalkeeper Felix Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. LA VIOLA's Jens-Ove Abrahamsson got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felix Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 53rd minute Gottfrid Brenner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind LA VIOLA's goalkeeper Felix Martinsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Jens-Ove Abrahamsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Osvald Uter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Osvald Uter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Osvald Uter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd match minute, LA VIOLA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihăiţă Cârstoiu to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvald Uter, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Felix Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of LA VIOLA booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Felix Montes got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gottfrid Brenner, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Ecuador played a much better game than LA VIOLA and deserved their victory. The LA VIOLA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
