The supporters of Celtistas booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Xabat Diaz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 25 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodney Marines. Celtistas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 29 minutes of play, Celtistas's Lorencio Abasalo made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Lamberto Abajas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodney Marines made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodney Marines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodney Marines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 47thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Celtistas's Rodney Marines was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Xabat Diaz came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Celtistas getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Fabian Ayala hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Rodney Marines skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nabucodonosor Campomanes in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Henric Ortega scored 3-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nabucodonosor Campomanes in the 67th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorencio Abasalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Celtistas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
