In the 22ndth minute of the game Will Slegers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Josef Mlynarczyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canadians R C B's goalkeeper Josef Mlynarczyk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amir Kartawidjaja's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amir Kartawidjaja helped the player get up and apologised. Amir Kartawidjaja hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Generoso Egoitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canadians R C B's supporters rose to their feet, but Generoso Egoitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Will Slegers made a kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Fabian Tino sent off a good shot on target. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sebastian Frykberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Canadians R C B's players had a chance to rest. Canadians R C B's Sebastian Frykberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 55th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. A collision led to Canadians R C B getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. In the 73rd play minute Generoso Egoitz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. 2-4. The supporters of Canadians R C B booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Will Slegers took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. In the 93rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense.
