Adolfo Batista's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Thiago Pliego skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 11th minute of play forced Cañada Juniors's goalkeeper Jonatan Bortzaioriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Alan Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Lembeck in the 14th minute of play. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cañada Juniors's goalkeeper Jonatan Bortzaioriz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The nice shot from Adolfo Batista in the 25thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Thiago Pliego had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 29th minute Abayhan Nedret shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 33rd minute of play. Jonatan Bortzaioriz came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Fontirroig in the 38th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Mariano Lacasa put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jonatan Bortzaioriz. Orlando Casaus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adolfo Batista to make the kick off. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Malysz in the 54th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Lembeck in the 63rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Jonatan Bortzaioriz in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 73 played minutes Mariano Lacasa rounded Cañada Juniors's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-5. After a rather tough play, Cañada Juniors's Jan Malysz got a free kick in the 76th minute. Jan Malysz kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adolfo Batista in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute of the match Cañada Juniors got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wang Xiao Xi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Chile booed when Cañada Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nemesio Cesaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cañada Juniors's attentive Dragolyub Mantovski managed to snatch the ball when Xavier Figueroa made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. After 92 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Felix Garrido. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Batista in the 94th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
