Zafer Hürsel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 10th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zafer Hürsel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Zafer Hürsel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 18th minute of play forced FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goalkeeper Zafer Hürsel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goalkeeper Zafer Hürsel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to FC Zenit Saint Petersburg getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Peter Snell hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Zafer Hürsel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Emander in the 28th minute of the match. In the 30thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Zafer Hürsel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zafer Hürsel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 32nd minute of the match. Håkan Kjellman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Arvid Gallin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zafer Hürsel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zafer Hürsel came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Lacasa to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 52nd minute of play forced FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's goalkeeper Zafer Hürsel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Snell in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Håkan Kjellman made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Ivarsson in the 79th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led to FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Arvid Gallin getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Peter Snell got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Francisco Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
