Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Mekki Item in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zulkarnaen Mandaga took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Day. Marco Day dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Mekki Item made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Cassius Byrne sent off a good shot on target. After 18 minutes, Leopoldo Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bandung Tigers and the USA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leopoldo Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 21 minutes, Radomir Gajewski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bandung Tigers and the USA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mekki Item was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice moves Cassius Byrne could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Mekki Item however easily saved by the left post. Marco Day came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Bandung Tigers's Zulkarnaen Mandaga. But to his dismay, Zulkarnaen Mandaga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Monty Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mekki Item took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fachri Puang, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 59th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mekki Item saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 60th minute of play forced Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Bandung Tigers's Zulkarnaen Mandaga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Day narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fachri Puang in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Fachri Puang managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. After a rather tough play, Bandung Tigers's Radomir Gajewski got a free kick in the 77th minute. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. The supporters of USA booed when Bandung Tigers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radomir Gajewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fachri Puang in the 81st minute of the match. After some careless play in the USA defense, Fachri Puang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. In the 85th minute, Khalid Parry left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 91st minute Sam Campbell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mekki Item saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Bandung Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Khalid Parry came free, but Mekki Item reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see USA lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
