Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd minute, Moises Tafalla fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Claudio-Paul Taffarel, passed just outside the right post. Claudio-Paul Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Inter de Melão's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio-Paul Taffarel came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Claudio-Paul Taffarel in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Farias in the 18th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delfim Paraense during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edmundo Espiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Claudio-Paul Taffarel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Villa in the 21st minute of the match. Moises Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Claudio-Paul Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 29th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute Delfim Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 40th minute of play. Esteban Carvallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmundo Espiga didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 45th minute. Honduras's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Inter de Melão from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 55 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Pernambucano. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 62nd minute of play. After 63 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Espiga. Inter de Melão's Delfim Paraense was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 67th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Falcão Dias's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 78thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Edmundo Espiga sped through Inter de Melão's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. Gonçalo Mazza hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Acácio Pernambucano in the 87th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Christian Sancho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 88th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Claudio-Paul Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Honduras fans cheered their team off the field, for while Inter de Melão had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
