In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Xiao Jie De, made in the 20th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Zulkarnaen Mandaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bandung Tigers's supporters rose to their feet, but Zulkarnaen Mandaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. The supporters of Bandung Tigers booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Tenorio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fachri Puang scored 2-1 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute, Peru's Anthony Alvarado seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Anthony Alvarado the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Peru protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Anthony Alvarado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 87th minute, one of Peru:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Peru. After 95 minutes, Leopoldo Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bandung Tigers and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leopoldo Azevedo hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Bandung Tigers support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
