Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, FC ANC's Anıl Akdoruk broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Artemio Quiroga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Martin Tudor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Kjellman, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Anıl Akdoruk was slow to take the kick. During this time FC ANC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on FC ANC's corner Anıl Akdoruk fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Artemio Quiroga had several of the Venezuela's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 26 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Jonathan Ferrant as he didn't even see the shot coming. The crowd rose to their feet as FC ANC's Artemio Quiroga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 after 28 minutes of play. Artemio Quiroga struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC ANC. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of FC ANC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Martin Tudor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Artemio Quiroga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Artemio Quiroga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martin Tudor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Artemio Quiroga made the kick off in the second half. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Kjellman, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Måns Kjellman in the 57th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Dino Petricca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC ANC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Petricca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Artemio Quiroga came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the FC ANC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artemio Quiroga couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Costa during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martin Tudor was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 90 minutes into the match, Måns Kjellman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Måns Kjellman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1.
