Cacomixtles de Queretaro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hüsnü Hürsel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play forced Cacomixtles de Queretaro's goalkeeper Serafin Ugaitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafin Ugaitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
