Efrain Guillem made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute, Cosme Goiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After taking down the ball on Flores Arlt's corner Edelmiro Osmundo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thiago Pliego quite easily take care of the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Flores Arlt's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Efrain Guillem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Lacasa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Efrain Guillem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Marcial Ourente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcial Ourente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efrain Guillem read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcial Ourente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Efrain Guillem in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efrain Guillem read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Chile booed when Flores Arlt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guaberto Henry didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Ourente in the 45th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcial Ourente to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 59th minute of play forced Flores Arlt's goalkeeper Efrain Guillem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sabin Răchită was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 78th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Guillem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efrain Guillem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Efrain Guillem came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Orlando Casaus. But to his dismay, Orlando Casaus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 89th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Guillem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flores Arlt's Efrain Guillem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Flores Arlt's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Efrain Guillem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Efrain Guillem. Flores Arlt's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Flores Arlt had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
