Meng Yan Jing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 23 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jiang Sang Qing who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Abandon All Hope's corner Jiang Sang Qing fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play forced Abandon All Hope's goalkeeper Meng Yan Jing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
