Mexico's Felix Luque managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jeremias Lehoi in the 18 minute of the game. 19 minutes into the match, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dobromir Szarmach narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dobromir Szarmach dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
