Stanislav Dvorskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 7th minute of play. Ivan Navarro hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Ivan Navarro got a free kick in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedict Baird. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Stanislav Dvorskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. 25 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Stanislav Dvorskiy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Stanislav Dvorskiy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislav Dvorskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A throw-in in the 45th minute of the game was made by Alessandro Manzanal with Ingmar Kracke as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Christian Sancho charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Sancho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Benedict Baird shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 53 minutes into the game, Resistencia Tayrona FC's Benedict Baird nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Benedict Baird sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. In the 60th minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Hector Hickman was substituted for Benedict Baird. A throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game was made by Alessandro Manzanal with Ingmar Kracke as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Ospetsu Villagarcia kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hector Hickman in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Maore Tejerina kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Resistencia Tayrona FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
