After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Pavel Balc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Pavel Balc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla suffered a concussion in the 20th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Mexico's Xavier Seco was substituted for Alberto Tafalla. Pavel Balc received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Pavel Balc slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. Stone City's Dragomir Marchovski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 28th minute of play forced Stone City's goalkeeper Dragomir Marchovski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Stone City got a freekick which was hit by Amanda Ingesson. Stone City's Dragomir Marchovski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Stone City from getting a goal against them. Pavel Balc scored 2-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Stone City support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
