Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kent Lindberg started the match with the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kent Lindberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mercado Paulista F.C's Franco Sampler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 6th minute, which Franco Sampler however easily saved by the left post. 7 minutes into the match, Mercado Paulista F.C's Kent Lindberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 9 minutes, Camilo Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Mercado Paulista F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mercado Paulista F.C booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent Lindberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After 18 minutes of play, Mercado Paulista F.C's Kent Lindberg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hans Doss kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Kent Lindberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Franco Sampler made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, Mercado Paulista F.C's Kent Lindberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Jayvier hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Mercado Paulista F.C's Frans Larsfelt got a free kick in the 39th minute. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

52 minutes into the match, Cristian de Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian de Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 57th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Sampler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57thth minute of the game Luis Andino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mercado Paulista F.C's Franco Sampler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Cristian de Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Sampler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Franco Sampler. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Montenegro in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franco Sampler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 69 minutes into the match, Mercado Paulista F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Franco Sampler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franco Sampler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Cristian de Lima took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Cristian de Lima took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Mercado Paulista F.C's Franco Sampler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 80th minute of play. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hans Doss was slow to take the kick. During this time Mercado Paulista F.C's players had a chance to rest. 87 minutes into the game, Sebastian Jayvier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mercado Paulista F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Sebastian Jayvier kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ecuador lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
