An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 6th minute of play forced Sakura Storm's goalkeeper Enrique Belo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got a free kick in the 10th minute. Enrique Belo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tadeusz Dziechciowski kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Manuel Ourente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. It was beautiful to see Costa Rica's Axel Tasis in action when he in the 97th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The Sakura Storm players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Costa Rica from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
