Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

During the 51st minute of the match Baltazar Zaplana completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Baltazar Zaplana a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Picanya FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Baltazar Zaplana hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Naldo Roig was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henric Villaquiran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gregory Bermejo went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Picanya FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Desiderio Elias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Naldo Roig. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Picanya FC's Jonathan Reina was substituted for Henric Villaquiran. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Picanya FC's goalkeeper Naldo Roig had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. After 93 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gregory Bermejo who took care of the corner kick. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Picanya FC throughout the match.
