FC UNIREA Alba Iulia:s Baldomiro Txindoki showed great skill when he stopped Daniel Zorita:s penalty. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iulian Pietreanu to strike the kick off in the second half. Baldomiro Txindoki came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomiro Txindoki having to interfere. Petrică Cândreanu charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petrică Cândreanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Petrică Cândreanu got a free kick in the 76th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Baldomiro Txindoki. That made the score 1-2 after 80 minutes of play. Ecuador played a much better game than FC UNIREA Alba Iulia and deserved their victory. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
