Bartolo Basualdo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Hermann Hesse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Bartolo Basualdo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Cris Ronaldo got a free kick in the 30th minute. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Hermann Hesse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermann Hesse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 42nd minute of play forced Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalkeeper Hermann Hesse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermann Hesse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alonso Berganza made in the 44th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Moises Gayoso. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Hermann Hesse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Julian Murillo sped through Deportivo Popolizio FBC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hermann Hesse. Julian Murillo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Erruki Velarroa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Torbjørn Trondsen came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseo Mina took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hermann Hesse. Luz Tejedor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermann Hesse having to interfere. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Hermann Hesse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 71st minute of play. Julian Murillo scored 1-3 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hermann Hesse, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Hermann Hesse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Erruki Velarroa made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Peru made a substitution. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalkeeper Hermann Hesse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Torbjørn Trondsen notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 96th minute of play forced Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalkeeper Hermann Hesse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru played a much better game than Deportivo Popolizio FBC and deserved their victory. The Deportivo Popolizio FBC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
