In the 9th minute of the match, Constantino Johans tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcos Cotilla saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Marcos Cotilla successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 13 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ariel Qwinton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luciano Diegotxe hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 20th minute of play forced Megistus's goalkeeper Ariel Qwinton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ariel Qwinton. Megistus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 28th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Qwinton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Ariel Qwinton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Berganza might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ariel Qwinton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Berganza ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 38 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ariel Qwinton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes in the game, Tomas Berganza fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ariel Qwinton having to interfere. Felipe Ros hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantino Johans in the 66th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Tomas Berganza got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ariel Qwinton made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Alex Cambeiro sent off a good shot on target. 77 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Guzman came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Qwinton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantino Johans kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Panama had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
