In the 17th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilfredo Ekaitz during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, C.A Huracan's Wilfredo Ekaitz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregorio Velasco. C.A Huracan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. When Juan Sebastián Puig came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Sebastián Puig couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gregorio Velasco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gregorio Velasco. Gregorio Velasco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6.

C.A Huracan's Gregorio Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, C.A Huracan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciriaco Guerrero to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Daniel Zorita from long distance, 72 minutes into the match, got Gregorio Velasco's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The nice shot from Daniel Zorita in the 73rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Gregorio Velasco had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 74th minute. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Velasco having to interfere. In the 88th minute of the match C.A Huracan got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Santo Eate ran over to the corner to take the kick. Delmiro Francis made a great header on C.A Huracan's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. After some careless play in the C.A Huracan defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gregorio Velasco. The C.A Huracan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gregorio Velasco should have stopped the shot. Haroldo Jago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
