Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kent Lindberg started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. After 8 minutes of play, Mercado Paulista F.C's Kent Lindberg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 10th match minute, Mercado Paulista F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frans Larsfelt to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Kent Lindberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mercado Paulista F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 18 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Lindberg came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kent Lindberg's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The supporters of Mercado Paulista F.C booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mercado Paulista F.C's Kent Lindberg got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Kent Lindberg made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 41 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mercado Paulista F.C the free kick. The supporters of Mercado Paulista F.C booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, one of Costa Rica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Costa Rica. The referee gave Mercado Paulista F.C a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hans Doss, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. 0-6. After the first half Mercado Paulista F.C were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Cristian de Lima reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 0-7. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian de Lima in the 70th minute of the match. Cristian de Lima might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian de Lima ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 74th minute Cristian de Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaron Alcocer charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Alcocer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 79th minute. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian de Lima showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-10 in the 80 minute of play. When Mercado Paulista F.C's Cristian de Lima in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. The throw-in from Efrain Moruga in the 89th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Mercado Paulista F.C's Adolfo Jorrin. Cristian de Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Cristian de Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian de Lima hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Cristian de Lima's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 101st minute of play. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mercado Paulista F.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
