Fumo Pocock made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fumo Pocock having to interfere. Oshyros ll's Fumo Pocock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Cristian Egoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Intxixu in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Egoitz. Fumo Pocock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 22nd minute of the match. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leandro Lucado ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fumo Pocock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cristian Egoitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Oshyros ll's Cristo Pedroso got a free kick in the 57th minute. Oshyros ll made a substitution. François Marotte replaced Cristian Egoitz. In the 85thth minute of the game François Marotte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Juan Sebastián Puig almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Oshyros ll's Fumo Pocock did a great save. 90 minutes into the match, Oshyros ll's goalkeeper Fumo Pocock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. The supporters of Oshyros ll booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oshyros ll's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
