Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fernando Vianna in the 55th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ander Bye. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th minute Lince Negro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elivélton Ferraz in the 66th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Anderbye FC's goalkeeper Ander Bye had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 71 minutes into the game, Anderbye FC's Gilmar Pires nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elivélton Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Anderbye FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
