To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 75th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Celestino Gau kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Efrain Roldan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. CERPA succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
