Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Louis Alebio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Axel Montenegros short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Mon Navarro Montoya to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mon Navarro Montoya made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 18th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Louis Alebio in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Axel Montenegro sped through Juventus Argentina FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mon Navarro Montoya. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Louis Alebio went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Juventus Argentina FC's Mon Navarro Montoya got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute, Louis Alebio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Mon Navarro Montoya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascual Carballar in the 39th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mon Navarro Montoya was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. 46 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Calistrat Panaitoiu came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off.
