The Thiago Pliego was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The Olivedos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chile were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abel de Godoi made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Chile's Gerardo Pozo got a free kick in the 55th minute. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel de Godoi in the 56th minute of the match. Abelardo Maranhense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
