Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christijan Schreuder in the 8th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Felix Montenegro in the 10th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Verwachting's Vincent Koekkoek. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Geels in the 14th minute of play. Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play forced Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play. Herbert Hilhorst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Herbert Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 30th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Ruud Geels dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-0. Vincent Koekkoek hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When Verwachting's Twan Hesseling in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christijan Schreuder made a kick off. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ruud Geels's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 61st minute, Verwachting's Leendert Dekker seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Leendert Dekker the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Verwachting protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leendert Dekker had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harm de Freitas in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Herbert Hilhorst. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Herbert Hilhorst having to make a save. In the 75th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 76 minutes, Twan Hesseling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verwachting's supporters crossed their fingers, but Twan Hesseling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Herbert Hilhorst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Twan Hesseling recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th minute, Adriaan Kuypers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
