Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henry Lagarde stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joel Gaona was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 90th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Carlos Jiménez came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
